Smiles, Sass, and Sibling Love in Westlake, Texas

Family sessions are always special, but photographing a family you’ve known since the very beginning? That’s a whole new level of heart. This gorgeous family of five met me in Westlake, TX for their latest session, and as always, they showed up with all the love, personality, and charm that makes photographing them such a joy.

The star energy of the day? The two big sisters, who came with the perfect mix of adorable smiles and just the right amount of sass. These girls know how to light up a camera—whether they’re grinning ear to ear, striking a confident pose, or giving me that playful little look that says, “We’ve done this before.” And they have! Both sisters are proud Chunky Monkey Newborn alumni, and watching them grow into confident, happy girls has been one of my favorite ongoing stories to capture.

Then there’s the newest little member of the crew—baby brother. His big blue eyes (and even bigger curiosity) were on full display. While he wasn’t entirely convinced about me this time around, I couldn’t help but laugh. After all, he and I go way back too—he’s a Chunky Monkey Newborn, just like his sisters. Even if he wasn’t fully sold on my jokes or camera noises this round, we still managed to capture those sweet, thoughtful looks that only he can give. And honestly? Those expressions are pure gold.

One of the best parts of this session was watching the sibling bond unfold. Sisters gently holding baby brother’s hand, giggling beside him, and showing him how to “cheese” for the camera made for some of the most heartwarming moments. Family photography is all about capturing connection—and this trio has plenty of it.

The Westlake, TX location couldn’t have been more perfect. Its warm light, open spaces, and soft greenery added a beautiful backdrop without distracting from the stars of the show—this fun, loving family. The kids had room to move, explore, and be themselves, which is always the secret sauce for natural, joyful images.

As we wrapped up, I couldn’t help but feel grateful. Watching all three kids grow from tiny newborns into their own little personalities is truly one of the biggest honors of being a photographer. This family brings laughter, love, and so much genuine connection to every session.
