Strawberry Cake Smash Session | Fort Worth First Birthday

There is something so special about getting to watch Chunky Monkey babies grow through all of their milestones, and this session was extra meaningful because this sweet birthday girl started her journey with me as a newborn. Now here we are celebrating her very first birthday with family photos, milestone portraits, and the cutest strawberry-themed cake smash ever.

As a Fort Worth first birthday photographer, one of my favorite things is getting to reconnect with families year after year. Watching babies grow from sleepy newborns into personality-filled toddlers is one of the greatest parts of my job. This little girl has been loved so big since day one, and seeing her smiling, exploring, and enjoying every minute of her session was so much fun.

We started the session with family photos to capture this season of life together. I always encourage families to jump in for milestone sessions because these moments matter just as much for parents as they do for the birthday child. Babies change so much during the first year, and documenting the connection, cuddles, laughter, and love between everyone creates memories families will treasure forever.

Mom and dad were amazing throughout the session, and their love for their little girl was so easy to see. She loved being close to them and gave us some of the sweetest smiles during family portraits. These are the kinds of images that become keepsakes for years to come.

After family photos, we focused on the birthday girl for individual milestone portraits. She was full of personality and curiosity, and she absolutely loved being the center of attention. From adorable smiles to serious little expressions, she gave us so much variety throughout her session. One-year sessions are always so fun because babies are beginning to show their unique personalities in the best ways.

Of course, the highlight of the session was the strawberry cake smash theme. Everything about it was sweet, playful, and perfect for celebrating her first birthday. The soft pinks, strawberries, and fun setup matched her personality so well. Once the cake came out, she wasted no time diving in and enjoying every second of it.

Cake smash sessions are always unpredictable, and that is part of the fun. Some babies dig right in while others take their time, but this little girl absolutely loved her cake. Frosting-covered fingers, big smiles, and messy little bites made for some of the cutest moments ever.
